MY TAKE ON THIS BOOK
Book 1 Lust – 3 stars, Book 2 Money – 5 stars, Book 3 Murder- 4 stars (Overall rating- 4 stars)
LMM is pretty much a straightforward book. The story focuses on Elaine Brogan. Each book describes each aspect of Elaine Brogan’s life.
The first book in the series is about Elaine’s backstory starting from the time when she was born. She is her daddy’s little girl and they share such a close bond which infuriates her mom. Her life takes a turn when her father gets falsely arrested for passing counterfeit $100 bills. She vows to become a Secret Service Agent to track the guy responsible for her father’s arrest. The book then covers her college life and training at the Academy. She finally becomes a SS agent but gets transferred to Bulgaria where she meets Nick.
The second book, after the betrayal, Elaine gets recruited by Gene Lassiter to work for the Treasury as she has the ability to identify the counterfeits just by look and feel of the bill and they want her expertise to find the imperfections in the fake dollar bill. This is my favorite book of three. The car chase part in this book was fantastic. Loved the way the author has described the scene. She is later kidnapped by the main villain, Giorgio Catoretti who wants her help to produce the perfect counterfeit bills. She is thrown into the world of luxury at the expense of committing a crime.
The third book, the title says it all, murder is involved. I won’t tell you who will be murdered( you need to read this book to figure is out). Elaine will see the true side of Giorgio Catoretti and will start to fear for her life. We get to learn the backstory of Giorgio Cataretti. On the other hand, Nick and Elaine’s path cross when he decides to investigate Giorgio.
My plan was to just read the first book but ended up reading all the three books. It was a quick read, with a lot of twists and turns. The minus for me was the lack of backstory of Nick and the way the book ended. The ending was so quick and there wasn’t enough explanation.
If you love fast-paced action, romance, betrayal, thriller books then check out this series. There are currently 9 books in the series. Will definitely check out the other books.
